Rhode Island Textile Innovation Network

Rhode Island’s 70 textile manufacturing companies employ more than 2,500 people and have a combined revenue of between $2 and $3 billion dollars annually. The United States is the world leader in textile research development, and Rhode Island textile companies and universities are developing next-generation materials, including new fabrics that adapt to the climate, lifesaving body armor, electronic textiles and conductive fabric. The companies design, manufacture, coat and finish a variety of goods to serve a broad range of markets, including aerospace, apparel, automotive, construction, consumer, energy, fabrics, home furnishings, infrastructure, industrial, marine, medical, military, protective apparel, recreation, soft goods, and technical textiles.
