The Navy Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), Naval Exchange Service Command (NECOM) and Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility (NCTRF) are interested in gathering information for potential current and future efforts with industry and academia. The goal is to further develop new and emerging technologies and concepts within the areas of dress clothing, military uniforms, protective clothing, textile and clothing testing and design/pattern development.
The collaborative forum will include presentations and a panel discussion with subject matter experts for Navy uniforms, protective clothing, testing, materials and business development. Participants will have the opportunity to submit written questions.
Topics to include:
• Small business development opportunities
• Applied research areas
• Potential areas of basic research applying them towards Navy and military requirements
Industry and academia who have expertise in the areas listed below are encouraged to apply for one of the limited number of (virtual) private appointments to be held in the afternoon of August 26. Polaris MEP and RIMA are hosting a webinar on the legal aspects of COVID vaccines with attorneys from Locke Lord who have experience in employment law. They will answer pressing questions from RI Manufacturers related to COVID vaccinations. They’ll address the legality of requiring or not requiring employee vaccination, how to handle employee questions and concerns, how to address employee resistance to vaccination and/or working with non-vaccinated colleagues, and more.
